Chavous Seat Information

Chavous Seat Information

Seats are built more on the premise of performance than the finished product having a showroom quality finish. Most customers do have a good understanding of this so we will share our knowledge in hopes that it helps give you confidence that the product will offer superior performance and that any blemishes are cosmetic and not structural.

Design

The reason we sell Chavous seats regardless of the style is they have strict tolerances on weight so you can be assured that each seat regardless of when and where you bought it will perform the same and compliment the handling of your chassis and not cause any issues with it being too heavy or stiff causing it to bind up.

Old Style - The old style is the original seat that has been winning races all over the country for past 2 decades. Its very so-metrical meaning its not altered from one side of the seat to the other and has a fairly wide flair in the hips compared to the other styles.

New Style - This seat mimics the Nexgen seat and has a different design on the left shoulder and back area pushing the driver up and over to the right which cocoons the driver somewhat to prevent fatigue. It has a more straighter design from the shoulder area to hips and does not flair out like the old style. One Note - The XXL seat has extra material removed in the front center of the seat that would meet the steering post and allows it to be pushed forward keeping the back of the seat from being behind the axle which is a tech item. This needs to be considered as some have made mention it affects overall comfort

Pro Series - This seat is designed to have a longer back but much like the old style is very so-metrical from side to side. It has a deeper bottom area which combined with the longer back allows the seat to mounted lower, pass tech and lowers the overall VCG or vertical center of gravity by getting the driver in the lowest overall position of any other model seat

Finish

All seats are produced the same way regardless if they are hand laid or made with the use of a chopper gun and that is through the use of a mold. A mold is basically a reinforced duplicate of the product it is trying to mimic and has the gel coat which is the color laid first and then the material laid second and after it is cured, it is released and pulled from the mold. Repeated use of a mold can cause the surface to crack or have blemishes that will show up on every seat after that point until they are repaired. These cracks are often called spider cracks, as they mimic a spider web and is mainly caused by having to tap or pry on the mold to get a seat to release, this is not the seat cracking, this is a crack in the mold and is reflected on the surface. This is a regular occurring trend and does not constitute the replacement and or discounting of the cost of the seat for any reason.

The other common appearance blems in a seat is the scuffing on the inside edges where multiple seats are pushed together from the manufacturer. Please understand that this cannot be prevented but can easily be brought back to a factory finish with the use a any brand flat black spray paint. As mentioned above with the spider cracks this does not constitute the replacement or discount of the seat as this is not a structural issue

What is covered by us - We will exchange or cover the cost of seats damaged in shipping that has caused a structural issue and will affect the performance of the seat, AGAIN this DOES NOT cover any appearance blemishes mentioned above, NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are unhappy or have concerns you will need to contact Chavous Racing Products directly for a replacement.

You will be required to acknowledge that this disclaimer has been read and understood and that there is no recourse against us for things out of our control that are considered quality control issues from the manufacturer
