Outside Prep - Low Bite Detailed

Low bite is very unique prep and provides more bite than MB but tends to bridge the gap when a known softener provides too much grip and a known bite prep does not provide enough regardless of the age of the tire and combination of inside amount used. LB really likes cooler weather and tackier not wet tracks but can work in very low bite dry slick tracks as well and is best used as a weekly base to build volume.

General Use:

* LB is best used during the week with a durometer range typically in low 40's - upper 40's as long as the track is not overly wet and works on all brands of tires.

Weekly -

LB is used like the rest of the outside preps to build volume during the week and the more that is used the more bite that will be created. Due to the type of track conditions the LB works best in there is really no need to allow the prep to cure. The LB is very effective as a base when used where there are a lot of cautions in the event and a typical softener would create too soft of a compound, you would normally see this in arena style events. LB is very similar to the MB in that its not a softener but the tire will drop in duro depending on the amount that is used up to 5 points. Use in conjunction with a heavier inside rolled tire to aid in the specific durometer range the prep works best.

Trackside -

LB can be used as a trackside prep alone or can added to the Wet Track at a 50 / 50 ratio. This takes some of the aggressiveness of the WT away and makes it where more volume can be wiped in the tire and the tire can be softened further than with LB alone. This mixture can be used during the week ONLY when the track is going to contain moisture for the entire duration. The difference in using during the week vs at the track when the WT is added is how far the volume takes the prep into the tire and the when used at the track its topical only and can wear off and dissipate quicker allowing the tires to not lockdown if the track conditions match the tire when used.
