Outside Prep - Wet Track Detailed

Wet Track is our first go to prep when softening is needed but when the amount needs to be controlled and this prep will work in all track conditions that contain moisture or for trackside use as a wipe and go fire off option when the track is extremely low bite and dry.  Unlike all of the bite preps none of the preps that we advertise as softeners will allow the tire to return to as it was prior to the application.

General Use:

WT can be used during the week or at the track but because of how it softens the tire when used during the week and the volume that is built in the tire, weekly application is advised when the tire is desired to be softer and stay softer.

Weekly -

Its best to allow a few weeks to build the volume in a tire so the softening is allowed to penetrate all the way through the tire. We advise doing a day on and day off when wiping the tires and start with wiping tires 3 times per day. When ding multiple sets we advise doing each set equally more than the next and when it comes to rolling tires from the inside we feel rolling the same and using the outside to add bite and drop the duro is far more productive in allowing the tire to be consistent throughout the entire run. We normally don't advise using the durometer to gauge bite but you can when you soften, so wipe until you can reach and sustain the desired duro even on the off day when they sit and cure.

Trackside -

One of the biggest misconceptions when it comes to softeners is that its all about durometer, when in fact when you wiped and how much has a bigger impact on how much bite the tire can produce and how soft the tire actually is beyond the surface. Weekly application as noted gives you a deeper longer lasting durometer, where the race track give the tire bite and will soften but its al topical and will wear off to a degree. Wiping at the track is normally advised to accent what has been done during the week but it can also be used on a harder compound when you need the tire to fire off but a softer compound beyond the surface is needed. Wipe cold for less reaction and use heat to drive it deeper and the more time that is given along with volume can go deeper as opposed to wiping very close to the time you go on the track and seeing it right on top creating a fact acting fire off prep.
